We are a 90% volunteer-based non-profit organization that depends on our community to help provide quality services to our neighbors in need. We have volunteer opportunities during our shopping shifts and outside of shopping hours.

THERE ARE SO MANY WAYS YOU CAN HELP US!
Help our administrative team create a great experience for all volunteers & clients!
Create a positive Food Shelf experience for others by completing behind-the-scenes tasks as a member of our amazing Volunteer Squad. Duties include filing, data entry, record keeping, and other administrative tasks.
Help our Food Rescue Program—retrieve donations from local stores
Volunteer as one of our drivers and drive around Waconia, picking up food donations from community partners and delivering them to the Food Shelf warehouse. After returning with the grocery donations, you will weigh the items and help put the cold/perishable contributions away.
Valid driver’s license and car insurance required.
Help organize and do the heavy lifting—unload trucks and join us in the stock room
Ready to do the heavy lifting? Join us in the stockroom to receive and sort donations, track inventory, restock main floor shelves and clean up to maintain an organized and safe environment.
One of our biggest needs is shift volunteers working directly with clients!
Do you have a welcoming smile and an open heart? Welcome visitors, explain how the Food Shelf works, answer questions, and assist visitors as needed.
Volunteer to help us with special events or special programs or with your unique skills
All hands on deck! Help behind-the-scenes at various events to raise awareness of food insecurity in our community.
Be a part of our Mobile Delivery Program
Don’t mind delivering groceries to doorsteps? Join our delivery team! We deliver groceries to residents within our service area once a month.
